SEVILLE. SPAIN STUNNING

 Wow! The world's largest Gothic Cathedral and Giralda tower AND The Royal Castle Alcazar ! These are the highlights of this city. We must book tickets in advance which was a challenge for us as their web pages did not like our postal code. We booked tickets with a third party which was fine. 

I have so many amazing photos of the Castle and Seville Cathedral so here is just a sample. Paul loves architecture and studied it for years.  This first batch is from the Castle. The Royal family lives here upstairs somewhere but they also reside in Madrid (and probably other "homes")










I am typing this blog on my phone so forgive me. I do have typos and the photos and videos sometimes are out of order. I am looking at tiny thumbnail photos/videos trying to load onto this post. My eyes go wonky 😆. 

The following photos are the Giralda Tower and the Seville Cathedral. The tower is extremely tall, no elevator, high climb in very close quarters. The view of Seville and the Cathedral are beautiful.













Details, details. A camera or one photo can not capture the magnitude of this Cathedral. The opulent rooms of gold and silver was mind blowing. The Catholics had (have) power and prestige during the times of Spanish colonization.

NAZARE GEM

This small town right on the ocean was on Paul's bucket list. As I was planning the trip I realized a day trip from Lisbon was not going to work. I booked less nights in Lisbon and booked three nights in Nazare. I splurged on the Airbnb, this was a place with a huge window looking down at this famous beach.  Nazare has the steepest hills so far...... I know this because the Airbnb was at the top of the highest hill! Great views means great climbs! The sunset is so beautiful there too! This town is famous for the largest waves in the world. Starting in November onward the waves start building. The surfers and other dare devils start arriving along with the spectators! IIn Nazare and many other Portuguese towns, there are wild and free cats. These cats seem well fed and friendly. In Nazare we saw many cat "houses" where residents can drop off food and water.
